I ask this because I know what it is to land into leadership as a result of deciding to run a business.

I’ve been leading people for over 14 years - both within the business I ran with my husband, and as an HR Manager - with teams ranging in size from 3 - 140 people.  

And let it be said: I’ve been there fumbling my way through, while not consciously seeing myself as a Leader of the people that I was dependent on for my business to function.

I’ll happily admit that during the first few years of operating our own business, we winged our way through the leadership part. Leading from control and hierarchy, egos front and centre. We’ve also done the dance with lack of not finding ‘the right people,’ and we've placed blame within others and within our industry as to why the ‘people part’ of our business wasn't easy.


Here’s the thing:

We weren’t looking at ourselves as true leaders of people within our business… 

AND we weren’t seeing ourselves as leaders within our own lives

Until eventually we simply decided that this style of leadership was no longer a match for us and who we wanted to be as leaders. We were ready for a new way of leadership.

And once we fully embraced this new way, everything changed
